I have been known for many years as a “ReInvention” person. People have come to me to help them figure out what’s next for them. They may be bored, they may want to quit their jobs and do something else, they might want to retire and work for themselves, they may be newly divorced or widowed, or they may be survivors from a serious illness. Or, they may just be BURNED OUT.
Whatever the reason they seek me out to help them figure it out, the reality is … they do.
Attempting to “reinvent” yourself is truly difficult to do on one’s own. It’s far better to have someone else to help you plod through the “muck” and the stuff that they are swirling in.
How do I help? Well, I listen, I ask, I question, I might talk a bit, I commiserate with them, AND I hold them accountable for taking the actions to make the changes. I let them know it could take days, or week, or probably months. Who knows. They hear reality from me.
Truthfully, we bounce around a lot trying to figure it out, but we do it together.
By the way, the same is true for ORGANIZATIONS / COMPANIES. They are in need of shifting and growing into the new world we live in.
Also by the way … I’m not a psychic, I don’t automatically know what they should do. The only ones who know that are them. Period. It just needs to be pulled out of their brains and their mouths.
Once you see what’s possible, you get excited. Then, you can start to create what is next.
The JOY of what’s coming is palpable. If it’s you doing this work, get ready!!!
Here are two steps to get you started on this journey:
- Make a list of all the things you “should” STOP doing. List it all, from the way you eat, to the lack of exercise, to the laziness and then get specific – list all the ways you are unhappy, not thriving. This is your chance to see what’s missing.
- Then, make a list of all the things you “should” START doing. What excites you, how do you want to look, how do you want people to know you?
The invitation is for you to take a chance. I honor your decisions!!
