What Is Coaching?

Coaching is a terrific profession that draws from the fields of psychology, business, philosophy, sports, transformational work, spirituality, and the arts. Coaching gives you an opportunity to have a "partner" or a "mentor" — someone to be in your corner, to be there with you as you grow. Most people are pretty good at motivating themselves to achieve changes in their lives, but we all know how hard it is to follow through. Partnering with a coach gives you an added advantage — it gives you a chance to have that one person that's your friend, your supporter, your challenger. As your coach, I will ask more of you than you ask of yourself and help you to reach your goals.

"The essence of coaching is the relationship between the coach and the client."

When Would I Use a Coach?

You might want to use a coach when you desire to expand yourself, your integrity, your well-being, when you are making life changes, when you want to make quick progress, and when you know there's more out there and you want it.

Or, if you are a manager or corporate executive, you might want to use a coach to help you to be more effective in your management responsibilities, to build your teams, to increase your productivity, and to maintain a more balanced life. For more about corporate coaching, click here.

How Does Coaching Work?

It's an easy and interesting process! First, we have a FREE session to see if we "match." If so, I'll send you a packet of materials to assess where you are in your life and where you want to be — your goals, missions, dreams, and life situations. After the initial assessment, we talk weekly, for about 30 to 45 minutes, preferably by telephone. You pay a monthly fee for three to four sessions, plus short calls and emails in-between sessions.

How Much Does Coaching Cost?

  • Individual Coaching – Monthly fee of $400 to $750 (depending on number of monthly sessions). Discounts are given if paid in advance in increments of three to six months at a time.
  • Intensive Options
    • One-month intensive program = $1500. You get two 45-minute sessions per week plus "just-in-time, as-needed" extra phone/fax/e-mail time.
    • Weekend intensive program = $3000. Spend Friday afternoon through Sunday noon. You get my full attention. Great for working on a "kick in the butt" startup idea, a project, a transition decision, or an expansion. Spend the weekend in New York where I am, or pay my way and I'll fly to you.
  • As-Needed Option/Retainer Plan – Put me on a retainer at $200.00 per month. Have access to me via phone/fax/e-mail on a "just-in-time/as-needed" basis.
  • Management Coaching – Monthly fee of $1000 to $2000 (depending on number of monthly sessions.) Coaching is usually offered as a combination of individual and group sessions.

Am I a Good Candidate for Coaching?

Ask yourself: "Do I wake up each morning and spend my day doing exactly what I want?"

If your answer is NO, you will benefit from working with a coach.

If you are willing to make big changes (take those leaps of faith) in your personal or business/professional life, if you're willing to have someone make requests of you (like, inviting you, in a loving way, to step outside your comfort zone), and if you're willing to take excellent care of yourself so these changes can be made, then you want to work with me and I want to work with you.

Ideally, the people I want to work with are those who are highly motivated to create the life they really want — just like you!
